The definition of boiling is when a liquid's vapor pressure is equal to atmospheric pressure

At 1 atm, which is at sea level, water boils at 100 degrees celsius
However

If you put the water into a vacuum, it boils regardless the temperature.

Therefore, the scientist put the room temperature water in a vacuum, which caused it to boil, then poured this room temperature water on his head.

Just a hint: When he says it's still the same ship after 20 years, I believe he means it's in the same condition it was 20 years ago, meaning it is again rotting or beginning to rot.

I understand that, and maybe you did not quite get what I was saying because of how I said it. But when he asks if it's still the same ship and why, he means is it still in the same condition it was 20 years ago, rotting or on the verge of rotting. Your explanation does not answer that question.

Since every piece is eventually replaced you COULD have made two different ships. However it was chosen to use the wood as replacement does this now make that wood part of the ship or not?

Since was and took implies past tense, it seems you are saying that she was definitely 12 at some point, but not necessarily at the time when she took the "16 year-old's classes". So basically she was 12 at some point, and took those classes four years later, without skipping any grades.
