Well, my parents are contemplating getting me a new computer, and are wondering if they should just wait till Vista comes out. If they chose to wait, I won't really get a good present for Christmas, but thats ok.

Also, when it does come out, windows is offering to send the DVD of Vista for only thye cost of shipping for people with windows XP.

So, whats your opinion?

It depends on how much they're willing to spend on it.

Vista is just XP with security upgrades...

Buy an XP computer unless you really wanna play Halo 2 for vista.

If I was you I'd go to the Steam forums in the hardware section, then ask them to custom build a PC for you. For $1,500 you can get a hell of a good machine. They know where to get the best parts for the best prices. After that you just buy the pieces that they said, and find someone to put it together for you.
