oh yeah... so it was both the maid and the butler. any way you look at it none of them are getting paid... but if your countin varyables you could have the mail not picked up from the previous day

Your in a pitch black room with three light switches, one of the switches turns on a light outside of the room your in, and the others do nothing, you can only turn one switch on and open/go out the door once,(you can change your choice of switch wile your still in the room while the door is closed) how do you figure out what switch turns on the light?
(And no you cant see the light from the cracks around the door.)

How would you even know where the hell the light switch is? Or where the door is if you're in a pitch black room? And why would you need the light outside to be on if you're inside? It's completely pointless. Sorry, I just didn't see the purpose of this one. >.<

Turn on the first light switch and then turn it off shortly after. Turn on the second light switch. Leave the third light switch off.
Go into the room and if the light is on, it was the second switch. If it's off, but it's warm, then it was the first switch. If it's off and still cool, it was the third switch.

I had a very similar riddle in my world history class for a warmup not long ago. That was my exact answer.
