Most of you have probably heard this by now, but here is a guy called j_netruon07 that will send you a virus over xfire. Block him.

He just messaged me, so I pwned him.

Its fake, you can't get a virus from someone joining your buddy list. If you downloaded a file then you could get a virus, but seriosuly, who would do that.

Thats wat i was thinking. The whole thing is a hoax, you cant get a virus from xfire unless you were sent a file.

Misinformation. The whole virus thing caught fire from this post.

To make things worse theres a little kid named j_neuron something something spreading fear about a virus THAT DOES NOT EXIST. Nobody has caught any virus so far through. So if he messages you theres no need to worry. The virus is a spoof and theres no danger in Xfire. Check out the posts on the forums if youd like.
