a good program I use for writing is macromedia fireworks, check it out. Or, you can modify the fonts to make em look like the ones in my signiture by right clicking a font thingy on the layers box, selecting blending options, and screwing around. I also recomend try blending in fonts and mabye renders into your banner/background thingies using the blending and/or bluring effects. Also, ya, dont always use sneakies meathod. Its cool, but try other things. Try liquifying the hell out of one of your things. Also try picking up a 3d brush set, those are always cool. You can also check out vector programs like swift, indesign, etc. Uh, what else...check out online guied for ideas, look around for custom fonts and brush sets. Try modifying original images into something else, actually creat "shapes", theres a styles palette thing that you can use to modify shapes and things into certain premade designs/patterns, and last but not least, take a class, lol.

Oh ya, dont be afraid to make your text big or bold (to make blending options show better), and if you just select the text layer, you can modify it. Liquifying text a bit is 'always' koo unless ofcourse it's inapropriate.
