Since I have joined this server, I have noticed that there are times in which a public player and or a dmer has joined the server and there are no admin's on at the time. I propose a system sort of like a job shift chart. it would be filled kind of like a roster certain admins applying for time slots like this. Monday 11:00 am-2:00 pm:Admin 1 2:00 pm-5:00 pm:Admin 2 5:00 pm-8:00 pm:Admin 3 it can worked around such things as the server being down, also maybe a system of awards after an admin applies for so many time slots. But it would be cruel to punish admins because of there current jobs and or vacation's. |

We put the admin paging in the server for this very reason. When there has been a dmer on, has anyone tried to use it? |

Yes, thats why the page system is there so you can contact admins when none of them are on the server. (aka at their computers but busy doing something else) The time block idea was already discussed awhile back among managers but was decided it was not a practical idea. All the admins are volunteers, who devote their time to making sure everyone else has fun and obeys the rules. It was decided that having time block style system would make it feel more like a job where they are required to be on at certain times, which would make it less enjoyable. Instead we have a minimum amount of time our admins must do each week and let them meet that requirement at anytime during the week, which as worked out very well since we first implemented the system. Also, We do have a system in place which monitors when the server is active with players and when admins are active during those times and lets us know of any times in which we need admins. Then if someone applies and says they can be active during a time that needs admins then I am more inclined to give them a interview if the rest of their staff application looks good. Its not a perfect system, but it seems to work out the best for our community. |
