I got straight A's this year, and as a reward I have just received a pet fox! (Completely legal, I have a permit for lots of animals! (live on a ranch))

I'm considering naming him Mozilla, or maybe Nuker. I would love to honor Nukesilo with his name, so if anybody has an idea besides Mozilla, it will be appreciated.

He's a fennec fox, by the way.

I'll put pictures of him online when he gets back from the vet. I spent about 20 minutes with him, now he's taken away for two days for vaccinations, neutering and such.

Can I f***ing kid myself? :)

Name him after someone in the community. Nuker sounds pretty good for a vicious pet like a fox o.O.
Would be even funnier if he was a small harmless (kind of) fox.

He's adorable, he'll be cuter than a little kitten for a few years, then he'll become as cool as a Husky.
As to Nuker, Yes, do understand he is a wild animal, I got the idea to get one when I advertised as a "pet babysitter" in order to get some cash, took care of one for a month and I could have cried when I left him. They are amazingly cute, the only con I have found with mine so far is they steal shiny things and hide them. (Luckily I found his hiding spot for stuff, behind the fridge) Whenever he's outside, I reclaim any stolen items. I don't want him to know that I know where the hiding spot is, or he'll hide it somewhere else. He also loves to get pet (especially on the belly and the chin) He gets along fine with my dogs. I have also taught him that pet rats are NOT food, and he understands, but I don't leave them together. The only animals I haven't introduced him to are the horses, they might get scared. I'm a little too over protective of him though, as I recently noticed. I just cant stand giving him large chinks of apple, he might choke! So I painstakingly cut it into tiny little pieces, I also peel the skin off the apple. My rats cant eat apple skin, so I don't risk it with my fox. He really loves chicken, but he isnt a fan of beef. His favorite food is cantaloupe.
He's deathly scared of cameras, the breeder says only three pictures of him were ever taken, and the flash scared him. And I fell like a monster every time he runs away yelping from the camera. He's very young, and he's still learning, so maybe he can learn that flash can be toggled. Until then, I can only show you pictures I take while he sleeps.

(Sorry if I'm going on and on about him, it's just that I can't stand the excitement, and being I live miles from other human beings (Rednecks who shoot shotguns off their front porches while drinking beer (I have seen this) are NOT human, apes evolved from them) I have nobody else to rant on about it to :D

Beg for one for a year straight, then on purposefully drop you grades, and continue begging. Let the PARENTS figure out: "we'll give you a fox if you pull up your grades to the norm" And so I did, and now I am a very happy kid. Don't use this tactic TOO much though, this was my first time using it, and I've never gotten anything as cool as a Fox in my life.I used to think my Airsoft gun was the greatest gift anybody could ever ask for, and then my pet rat Lucy, but now it's this fox. It just gets better and better.
(It also helps if this all happens around the time of your Bar Mitzvah :-) )

Hiss Barda....hiss...
As to you, Nuker, yes, I do have alot of animals. I live on a horse ranch, and this fox is our third "exotic" animal. Our first experience with exotics was a zebra. A very suitable animal for a horse ranch, and the first thing we noticed wsa the increase in cutomers. Well, we did a little research, and EVERY ranch with a zebra did much better than competition in the area. However, a ranch not too far from us also had a zebra, so we looked for another animal that would get peoples attention, be able to handle attention without getting depressed (My family doesnt really care when a person dies in a movie, but when an animal does, it's soooo sad.) Our first idea was a red panda. But the cheapest one was 3000 dollars. Then we thought of a kangaroo, but those animals kick people when agitated. We settled on a capybara. (surprisingly common exotics, those cute little guys are) After finding that I had a knack for animals, I started earning money myself as a "pet babysitter" And got the oppurtunity to babysit a fox. You know the rest.
And no, Nuker, you cant move in.

For those of you who like fennec foxes, they are pretty easy to get in many states.
This is a chart about what states they are legal or not in:

http://fennecfoxes.com/content/view/44/44/

But before you even consider buying one, PLEASE consider whether or not you are experienced enough with animals to own one. In most states, you need to pass a quiz on the fox to see if you can own it. In some states, you don't even need a permit (Idaho and Iowa) Here's a way to tell if you can own one: When taking care of some other animal, do you often have to look on the internet, books, or other external sources to see what to do? Cause if you do, odds are you can't keep a fox. There aren't alot of resources on foxes, it's pretty much all you.
So if you don't have that instinct of understanding what the animal wants, you're screwed.
