((First I just want to explain myself, since I am assuming there will be some people that will not approve of my leaving the MD. I don't want to be stereotypical but it is hard to avoid it while you are in a MD position. The fact of the matter is, there are not enough skilled RPers on the server to provide any purpose to my job, and honestly every time I get on I feel like I am wasting my time. (When the victim responds "lol im shot" to a well thought out and technical /me). I believe many RPers who have a large skill set, can not or do not play at the same times that I do.)) Name: Adam 'G-Man' Scott Steam ID: Steam_0:0:6116879 Have you been a police officer before?: Yes If Yes, Where, When, and What Rank(s): On Menchi's RP Summer of 2008, I was Rookie - Lieutenant. On NukeSilo November of 2008, I was Rookie - Officer III. Any previous arrests: No If Yes, Where, When, and Why: N/A How long have you been Role-Playing: Around 2-3 years, can't remember the first time I accidently came into a RP server and DMed. What Days/Times of the week can you be active: It really fickle, basically when I have time outside of my college schedule and personal time. But definitly not often on Mondays or Wednesdays Why I should select you for the job: I feel as if I am well known enough in the server and have proven that I am capable of RPing in general. Unlike many of the police officers seen in TSRP and also unlike the many hypocritical applicants that say they will do this, I'll be spending the majority of my time actually RPing with criminals and not tazering them. My ego isn't as big as many others, and I can stand losing a criminal for the sake of a good RP. Tell me How you will RP your job as a cop successfully: I will patrol the city ((+speed)) with all weapons holstered and keep an eye out for anything unusual. If I do see something unusual, for example 2 sketchy men standing in an ally way I would stay on the sidewalk and look at them for a bit. If they disperse and run right when they see me I would follow them to figure out why they were running. If they were to stay and I was still worried about there behavior I up and ask if anything was wrong. If I was patrolling and I saw a fellow officer in pursuit I would sprint up to him and try to assist him. I won't take over his pursuit though only assist and stay behind him for backup. And I also won't interrupt other officers RP's (i.e. I won't go and headshot a thug if he has a cop hostage). There are many other circumstances but I hope that what I have described so far can help you infer what I would do in the other situations. Describe to me how you would deal with an armed 7/11 robber: I feel my response can most fully be described in 3 different scenarios. Situation A (If I had a car): When I receive the call about the robbery I would get in the car and try to talk to the officers at the scene via radio to further understand the situation. As driving to the scene I should learn enough about the situation to make an educated decision about where to arrive at the scene. If they were making a perimeter with police cars I would park mine where necessary, if they weren't however I would just find a sufficient space. Either way I would then get out of my car and crouch behind the hood keeping my weapon pointed at the robber at all times. Once he tries to make his escape I would try to block his escape without spamming /ptazer because I have a high chance of hitting and disarming another officer. Situation B (no car): I would most likely be patrolling somewhere far away so I wouldn't have time to talk about the situation and I would just have to run to the scene as fast as possible. Once I got near though I would have to slow down and be prepared to dodge fire if necessary. Once I know I can get behind cover safely I would crouch and go as quickly as I can there. I would then carry out the rest of the situation as described above. Situation C (First on the Scene): I would most likely not have a car or be prepared to take cover so I would have to improvise quickly and dive behind probably the gas pumps. I would then shout that this is the police and he needs to put his gun down and cooperate. Knowing criminals though I am sure they thought this through before and are bent on doing this the hard way. I would not open fire until he did unless he had a hostage in which i wouldn't open fire at all until the hostage is at a safe perimeter from the robber. By now fellow officers would be at the scene and if a higher ranking officer was present I would hand the negotiations to him. Describe to me how you would deal with someone breaking the diner window: If he was a Pub:/DMer and just running around breaking windows consecutively without a purpose I wouldn't give him the privilege of an RP explanation and I would just have to taze him and fine him. If it was a one time occurrence however I would approach him with gun holstered and tell him to stop where he is and ask for an explanation. I would still have to fine him but we can RP it out. Describe to me how you would deal with someone having a gun out in public: There could be several different situations this could occur in, if the man had a gun out in public and was terrorizing citizens I will shoot him twice in the head at a comfortable distance. If he hasn't shot it yet and was pointing it at someone I would unholster my gun and tell him to freeze and put the gun down or I will open fire. If it was just someone holding a gun out by himself, I would approach him more calmly with gun unholstered and ask him to put the guns down and if I could see the registration and license for that weapon. After all its not illegal for a citizen to have a weapon to defend themselves. Did you read the Police Hand Book: Yes Any other comments: ((My whole purpose in choosing the PD to apply to for my next job, is my desire to try and join the NCIU. I am honestly just using this job as a stepping stone to NCIU.)) ((I also have a problem RPing with those who can not. I will RP with them but put in 20% of the usual effort I would pursue, thus causing the time I am forced to RP with them lower)) ((As my last note, if Wake or another veteran PD member is reading this, they might recognize it, please don't mistake it for plagiarism. I tried to just paraphrase/edit my previous application I made last year.)) |
