BIOGRAPHY

"Only in death is one free from the terrors of the world."

CHAPTER 1: SHOOT TO KILL

"s*it, it hurts..." I said out loud. The hole in my gut was bleeding heavily, and the 9mm in my right hand was getting heavy. "What the hell did I just do?", I thought to myself. "You just killed him jerk, you just killed him.", replied my conscience. My eyes slowly started to water at the gruesome scene in front of me, the scene I had directed with my own two hands. I look down at the ground, at the body of my ex-partner Steve. He had 2 holes in his head, and I had 2 bullets missing from my magazine. I stumbled out of the alley way, determined to get the hell out of Mecklenburg. It had all gone wrong, everything had. I needed to get out, but to where, I didn't quite know...

[FLASHBACK]

"Thanks Chief, I'll turns this city around, I swear it!" I told Chief Kyle Gates while shaking his hand. He had recently promoted me to Lieutenant and now, only 2 weeks later, he promoted me to head of the Gang Control and Prevention Office (G-CAPO for short, our running joke was that a Gangster and an Italian Capo had fallen in love. Crazy, isn't?). I was now under the command of 9 of the hardest working officers this side of Mecklenburg. And with this promotion, I told the Chief that the city would be safer. I wouldn't know how wrong I was...

My new partner, Steve Kwanzski (KH-WANZ-SKI), was the biggest asshole I had ever met, but also the closest thing I could call a friend. We disagreed often, usually about the PD's policies. Steve always wanted a more 'officer-control' approach, while I was one to follow the rules- through and through. (I guess this is where I should tell you that I never accepted a single bribe, and when dealing with gangs, that is quite an accomplishment.) It was my 4th month on the job when I hit the biggest arrest of my lifetime, the RAF (Red Army Faction) leader, Nikolai Zhukov. Zhukov had always been a constant pain in my ass, not only as a big-time gang leader, but also as Mecklenburg's poster boy- Yes, it's true. He was a politician, and a sly one at that. His gang dealt drugs as he spewed out never ending bills to control the PD, or as he liked to call it "The Savage Beast". When G-CAPO finally tracked a connection with him and the RAF I thought that the hard part of my job was over. You see, the RAF was only 'true' big-time gang. I thought with their downfall, I would only need to deal with the small-time wannabe gangs. Even though I enjoyed my job, I was waiting for the opportunity to get back on CP (Crime Prevention) patrol. Not only did the Chief say no, but I was mysteriously demoted down to Senior Sergent, while Steven took my rank and position as G-CAPO commander. A week later, Nikolai made his television speech that would never, ever be forgotten...

It was a bright day, and Nikolai was at a press conference outside the city court, waiting for his trial to begin. I went out of spite, because I really didn't have anything else to do. His speech was fairly short, but the main point wasn't the speech, it was the shot that rang out after. I had never, ever seen anyone fake a bullet strike like Nikolai did. Needless to say in the moments after the shooting, I found myself cuffing the shooter. "Alright, let's rip off the cheesy mask and see who we have!"- It was a thing I have regretted doing ever since. I ripped off the mask, only to find an RAF member in a stolen police officer's uniform. Before I could even speak, Nikolai who was supposedly 'injured', stood up and yelled: "It was the Savage Beast! I have tried to tell the public, but now I have proof!" After he uttered his last word, I felt glass crack over my head, and I saw the pavement approaching my face at an alarming rate.

I woke up 2 hours later, only to find the city in an state which the PD calls AR/TOS (Attempted Riot/Take-Over Situation). I always thought the 'attempted' part was funny. I quickly made my way through the city back to the PD, and when I went to the Chief's office, I saw none other then Steve. "So you finally showed up, eh James?" He told me. "Steve? Where's the Chief? What are you doing here?!" I demanded Steve. "You haven't figured it out? I have been working with Nikolai since day 1, and if I 'disposed' of the Chief, I would be the new one." He chuckled like a maniac, while I was speechless. Could this REALLY be happening? "But now about you. I must know James...Are you with me, or do you wish to join the Chief?" I stammered my response, due to being furious. "You-you...BASTARD! WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?!" He simply replied: "I guess that's a no..." He lifted his gun, and I knew I was a dead man. But my training kicked-in, and in a flash I pulled out my 9mm and took 2 quick shots...........

[/FLASHBACK]

I made my way to my apartment. How? I have no idea. All I remember is throwing my 9mm on the ground, grabbing some fake identity papers I had acquired 2 weeks earlier, and catching a bus to Nuke City. I had only one thought on my head: Revenge.

CHAPTER 2: HITTING THE BIG CITY

I got off the bus, slowly and without cause. I needed a place to stay, something to eat, and a cigarette full of nicotine. My first stop was the bank, and with the fake identity papers I had taken, I had a new account. 'James Treadwell' - Funny name, but oh well. I withdrew $200 to go buy a pack of cigs and a new phone, but as I headed over to the 7/11, I passed the NCPD. Needless to say, going in was probably a bad idea, but I needed a new job and why not do something I was good at? I began to talk with Nuker, the NCPD Chief at the time, and he was very kind (something unknown to a man like me) and took a look at my (doctored) records. He hired me as a recruit with a promise of promotion if I did my job well. Ironic as hell, isn't it? My duties were simple at the time- Patrol the city, welcome guests at the PD, and make sure the city was safe. Not to troublesome for someone like me, but I was unfortunate enough to be called to a bank robbery scene. There were 2 suspects, and a couple of hostages. I was sweating...I can't really remember, but I knew the feeling......That adrenaline, the rush of hunt...The cool metallic feeling of a glock in your hands. After a 2 hours stalemate, they began to shoot at us, with me getting hit twice. I fell unconscious, and woke up an hour later in a hospital bed: "s*it, not again." I was quickly released back to duty, only to find a new Chief in Nuker's place- Shippo Fox. Shippo, as I came to find out later, was a man of action. He didn't take anyone's s*it, not even a highly-powerful gang, or the mayor himself...

It was the 3rd week of my new job when Shippo called me in to his office. I was certain my cover had been blown, and that I was going to get fired as well as arrested. I was surprised to find a letter of recommendation on his desk: Directed towards me. I was promoted to Police Officer, Grade 1. Not Chief of Police or Police Commissioner yet, but hey- It's a start, isn't it?

CHAPTER 3: CLIMBING THE LADDER

It had been a rough week. In the past 3 months I had been promoted to SWAT Officer, and I was now running for Mayor of Nuke City. I had talked to many people before doing this, and I figured out of everyone in Nuke City- Why not me? I was a cop, and a citizen. I understood the needs of the people, and I had been in the Marines, so I knew about discipline. My opponent, James Shultz, was a man who reminded me of Steve...alot. His campaign was running on his idea to built a federal-run casino. Interesting idea, no? When the public asked him about the ironic loop it would bring (Federal-run: Payed by taxpayers. Who goes there? Taxpayers. Where does the money end up? In the hands of the government) words failed him, and he remained quite quiet. It was now the 2 month of campaigning, and election day was not to far off... I had to wonder, do I have what it takes to win?

To be continued...
