There seems to be some confusion as to what is and is not acceptable in this community. Recently, I have had to focus a lot of my attention on the Ban / Abuse area of the forums, because there have been a number of new topics in there that don't quite fit our standards for "respect". Let me make this clear, yet again.

Members of this community should not be insulting or disrespecting other members of the community!

For some reason, lately, people here seem to think that they are not only entitled to stating their opinions on a matter in a derogatory way, but that it is their duty to do so! Now I cited the Ban / Abuse section as a reference, so let me explain why. Most of the more recent posts seem to be falling under the same template. Somebody does something totally asinine on the server, like deathmatching or evading jail, then they try to justify it with a reason that is also asinine and, quite frankly, utter bullshit. Then this mindless banter continues and evolves into insults, threats and what have you, simply because Little Billy is not having his way.

I have two tips for you thus far:

1) You are not as smart as you think you are. You can not outsmart other people by using words that are two grade levels above yours. Guess what... there are people here who are still older and wiser!

2) The more you run your mouth, the worse you are making your situation.

So what happens after all this? Well everybody already knows. It ends up in the Ban / Abuse area, and no, that vibe that someone pissed in said person's Wheaties that morning does not disappear. But the real cherry on top is that people expect to be taken seriously and even supported while they're still slinging slanderous remarks. What's better, and I'm not afraid to say it, is that, of all people, they are targeting administrators and other staff members! The only people who can truly help them in their situation! How??? Why??? I don't even understand!

Now to the punchline. Here's what is going to happen to these people. ANYONE who makes ANY statement ANYWHERE that doesn't fly well with our standards for respecting other members will be dealt with quite harshly. If you do it in an unban request, don't expect to be unbanned anytime soon. In fact, if it is so bad, plan on being banned from other places in the community as well. If you do it in an abuse report, don't expect to be taken seriously. Your topic will be trashed and you will be verbally crucified. Then...you, yourself might be banned. And anywhere else, the same pretty much applies.

Hopefully this gets through to at least some of you. I'm tired of getting private messages titled "wtf", and I'm sure the other staff members are, too.

I'm thinking this needs to be made into a global.. it is all very true.

Though i haven't received any "wtf" pms in awhile... maybe people have learned it doesn't get them anywhere.
