The Plasma tv my dad ordered just came in today(Hitachi)we're wondering if HDTV comes with it or do we have to order it

HDTV means it is a high definition TV. Do you mean high def. channels?

Either the TV needs to have an HDTV tuner or you need an HDTV box from your Cable provider or Satellite provider.

Check the HDTV's specifications if it has an ATSC tuner. It might even have a CableCard port. If it does you can get a CableCard from your cable company.
