It was a nice night outside, a light breeze with the moon illuminating the streets and sky. The night was fairly quiet, no more than minor crimes such as broken windows and such. All of a sudden, a transmission was spoken over the radio by a voice none of the officers recognized. Now, all of these officers had worked together for quite some time in the 1st precinct of Nuke City, except for a select few. It struck them quite odd that a new voice was on their radio frequency. The voice blared over the radio, spoken with an authoritative tone. The mysterious voice said, "Control to all units, regroup at the PD immediately. I repeat, regroup at the PD immediately. Drop everything and get to the station." Of course this message brought questions immediately to the officer's mind, but they had to go whether they liked it or not.
As the officers on patrol around the city that night entered the station, they were directed inside by a lieutenant. The lieutenant instructed them to line up according to rank against the wall. By now, all the officers were extremely curious as to why they had to do it. When they were lining up inside, they noticed an unknown figure standing in the far back by the Chief's office. He was a good-looking fellow, dressed up nice with one of those expensive looking suits. As the officers eventually lined up, the mysterious figure took a couple steps forward, into the light and in front of the line of officers. The man clapped his hands together and said, "Greetings officers of the 1st precinct." He gave a slight pause and looked down the line, inspecting everyone lined up. "As some of you may know, I am the new Commissioner of this wonderful police force." continued the man. As soon as this was said, there was a minor gasp going through the line. Many thought they were doing great when the old commissioner randomly disappeared, "Why would they bring in a new one?" many thought. Even a couple thought they deserved the position of commissioner. The man waited for a bit before he began again, "Let me introduce myself, my name is Antonio Vega. The mayor transferred me in from a different city, Mecklenburg, some of you may know that place. As I was walking to this wonderful precinct earlier today, I noticed that this city is in extreme chaos. I am here to hopefully fix that." A slight chuckle went down the line as soon as Antonio said that sentence. "I will be issuing some new regulations as the acting Commissioner, starting now." said Antonio as he was walking up and down the line of officers. "It seems that most of you are not wearing uniforms, that is improper. You have been supplied uniforms and you must wear them. Failure to do so will result in disciplinary actions taken against you. You will also have to wear your name tag at all times. Well, lets get going; put on your uniforms if you haven't already and get back in line." All the officers except for a few immediately walked into the locker rooms to change, while gossiping behind the new commissioner's back as well.
As fifteen minutes passed by, all the officers were back in line with their uniforms and name tags. Antonio began his speech once again, "Great, seeing all these uniforms is great. The next thing I will be going through is gun safety. I have been hearing lots of rumors lately... such as that you are all too trigger happy. Let me make this clear to all of you right now, discharging your weapon is for last resorts only. If the suspect is unarmed, do not draw your weapon unless he is an immediate threat to you or others. Always try to use non-lethal ways to subdue a suspect." There was a long pause after that statement as Antonio was inspecting the officer's uniforms. He checked their badges, ties, and buttons on their shirts thoroughly. "I do not want to see any of you officers running around with automatic assault rifles. Though this might seem crazy to some of you, I have seen this before. You are to carry your authorized standard sidearm at all times, nothing more or less. The rifles are reserved for SWAT or high-risk situations. Do not let me catch you carrying them around as it will not go unpunished." continued Antonio with his eyes wandering around up and down the line. Antonio's eyes wandered towards the bottled water sitting on the desk next to him, he quickly picked it up and unscrewed the cap. As he was drinking water, he noticed that some of the officers glared at him with menacing looks. He was satisfied, knowing that discipline is what these officers need. He screwed the cap back on the bottle and set it back on the desk. "It seems that some of you don't like me already," said Antonio as he chuckled slightly, "Well, let me tell you, discipline is what makes a good police force. Keep that in mind, all of you. Now, that's all of the important matters that I wanted to discuss with all of you fine officers. The Chief and I will post up more important subjects on the bulletin board by the front desk, be sure to check there." continued the commissioner. As he finished his last sentence, a call came in of a robbery in progress. "Perfect timing, heh." thought Antonio. "Alright everyone, you know what that means! Lets get moving, come on! Go!" roared Antonio. As all the officers were running out of the station, Antonio sat down at a desk and leaned back giving a sigh of relief. "Man, that was hell. This force will be hard to control..." he thought while taking out a bottle of advil. Antonio opened the bottle and put four pills into his mouth. He grabbed the bottled water and chugged the rest of the half full bottle down with the pills.
