Got Holes? Article by Danny V
It's that time of the month again ( get your heads out of the gutter ), the one we all know and love...ELECTION TIME! As you may know, there are 2 frontrunners in this election, James Treadwell and James Shultz. They are both qualified candidates, have leadership experience, and very heady men, but let's take a closer look at the policies of Mr. Shultz, shall we?
1) He says there will be a pay raise for all social workers. That's great, but can you say tax increase? It has to be regulated SOMEHOW.
2) Shultz vows to eliminate unemployment. Not that this is a bad thing, but it isn't exactly one of the crippling problems present in Nuke City. In fact, I might even go as far as to say that employing people is one of our stronger suits, and although the idea is a good one, we should leave it for when it is needed.
3) Next on his plan is opening a homeless shelter. Again, great idea, but why not attack the problem at the root? You know, take the money he wants to put into a CASINO and use it for charity or something? It's not as if we're tripping over homeless people down the sidewalks everyday.
4)GOVERNMENT-RUN CASINO?! Need I say more? Hello disgruntled taxpayers! Not to mention along with it other forms of crime.
5)For someone who wants to bring people out of poverty, why legalize a drug? Then they'll just LEGALLY waste their money on it!
6)Increase jail time and fines? Wouldn't he first need a more stable police force to get this done? Seeing as Treadwell has direct ties to the force, he can achieve that, Shultz I'm not so sure about.
7)He will personally meet with anyone by appointment, but Treadwell will constantly be around the town meeting with people, no appointment required! He is quite the people person if I do say so myself, he knows what YOU want and he's here to assure YOU get it. Assuming it's within reason, of course.
As you can see, there are quite a few holes - inconsistencies - in Shultz's plan for office. I'll let you decide who to vote for, but if this didn't make you think for even three seconds, then I have a feeling Nuke City might be headed for a rough time in the near future... If you truly hope for a better tomorrow, you know what do! Attend some of their debates or something, you may learn a thing or two people!
