Job Description

Below is list of positions NukeSilo is looking to fill. All positions are voluntary and require good communication skills, the ability to work in a team, and the desire and willingness to meet the goals of your position so we can help better the community as a whole.

Game Server Admin
TSRP Server: Seeking Admins
TSDM Server: Seeking Admins
TF2 Server: Seeking Admins

NukeSilo is always looking for people to help administrate our gaming servers. Server admins serve multiple roles, the more obvious one being there to help enforce the community rules to allow everyone in the server to have fun without having to worry about trouble makers. The less obvious roles include helping new players (even more so on the TSRP Server) with any questions they might have about the community, or the game itself.

NukeSilo does not require any past admin experience to become a server admin, so do not let that stop you from applying if you are interested in the position.

If you apply for staff member, you MUST meet the following requirements:
1. Must be able to spend at least 5 hours each week on the server you are applying for
2. Be an established member of the community
3. Have few or no recent bans in the community
4. Be at least 13 years old
5. Have not submitted an application within the last month that was denied
6. Must not have failed an interview within the past month.
7. Have not failed a previous trial stage within the past 3 months.
8. Must be active on our irc channel (#nukesilo on irc.gamesurge.net) and must have an authserv account with GameSurge.

(Tip: If I haven't seen you on IRC before or you barley get on and say nothing then your application will be denied. If this sounds like you then get on IRC and chat it up before applying. If you do then it will significantly raise your chances of getting accepted)


If your application is accepted you will then be given an interview. If you pass you will be accepted as a Trial Admin for 2 to 4 weeks. During this time you will be expected to be active on the server and spend time with a staff trainer. At the end of the trial the staff must have an overall good opinion of you and you will be re-evaluated as if you make it or not. If you do you will be promoted to full admin.

To apply, send a email to staffapp [at] nukesilo [dot] net with the format below. If you do not follow the format exactly then the message will be automatically deleted. Make sure to include the part, so for nickname you would put "NickName: <MyNickName Here>. Replace anything in {} with the correct information (do not include the {}).

Frequently Asked Questions

My application was auto-denied! Help!

Thats not a question, but in almost every case an application is auto denied, the reason is supplied with it. If its not then you may contact me on irc about it. Please note that you may fix your errors and reapply, without waiting for a month to go by.

How long does it take for an answer?

Sometimes you will get an answer in a few days, sometimes it can take a week or two. Admin applications are usually processed on the weekends, so if you apply during the week I may just have not had time to review it yet.

Did you read my application? What did you think of my application? When can I expect an answer?

If, and only if, it has been over 2 weeks (14 days) since you've applied and haven't gotten any response, then you may contact me on irc about your application. Otherwise, do not ask me these questions unless you want your application denied. I will read every application that wasn't auto-denied (this is done automatically by a script) when I have the time to do it. If you want to know when you can expect an answer then please read the question above.

I messed up on my staff application, how do I fix it?

Submit a brand new application, not a forwarded or replied version, of it corrected. The scripts will automatically delete the oldest version and keep the newest version as long as the newest version compiles with the correct formatting.

A staff member wishes to recommend me for staff, what should they do?

They should email me as soon as possible after (or shortly before) you send in your staff application. This is so I have a record of them recommending you. If they aren't sure of the email they can contact me for it.
